Just had what must be my longest blog-break ever. I’ll gradually work back through four days of Benedictine Retreat followed by a diocesan visit to Meath and Kildare in the Church of Ireland – where we are attempting to re-establish a faltering link.

There is a pub here in Texas that has a drink that is part (mostly) Guinness and part something else (I forget what) that is called a “priest’s collar” which makes me wonder if that is a drink named for a bishop’s miter.
or as Mrs Doyle would say, ‘Ah, go on, go on, go on, go on ….
Doesn’t it say in the Bible that a little wine is good for the stomach. Maybe a new translation has ‘Guinness is good for you, to be sure, to be sure 🙂
